We are seeking a talented and energetic professional who is responsible for supervising the daily cargo handling activities of AHK, its customers (primarily DHL & CX), and other contracted ground handling agents.

Position: Cargo Services Coordinator

Key Objectives:

​

Reporting to departmental management, this role will be responsible for supervising the freight operations and executing approved processes that ensure customer satisfaction and compliance to established safety/security/service standards. This role requires proactive engagement with customers, internal departments across all levels, and external stakeholders to ensure seamless coordination and operational excellence.

Roles and Responsibilities:

• The Cargo Services Coordinator is responsible to the Manager Cargo Sales and Services for the following duties and responsibilities:

• Supervises and conducts random inspections of aircraft handling activities, including loading/unloading aircraft, weight & balance, dangerous goods and special cargo handling.

• Monitors the performance of cargo service function as provided by Cathay and other ground handling agents to ensure service quality and compliance.

• Upholds high standards of customer service by ensuring operational attentiveness, efficiency, and accuracy.

• Ensures full compliance with IATA regulations, particularly in the handling of special cargo and dangerous goods.

• Reports and investigates service failure, coordinating with relevant parties to implement corrective actions and prevent recurrence.

• Assists to follow up on operational irregularities and inspection non-conformities with internal and external stakeholders.

• Actively supports continuous improvement initiatives and contributes to the implementation of the Quality Management System.

• Provides support in project management of IOSA standards implementation and other certification programmes.

• Reviews and enhances the applications of IOSA standards and recommended practices to ensure alignment of operational needs.

• Delivers procedural and informational training to ground handling staff to ensure consistent service delivery.

• Monitors ULD control, purchase and maintenance.

• Maintains and updates departmental content on the AHK website.

• Supports the setup and operational readiness of new stations.

• Provides assistance for ad-hoc and non-scheduled charter service.

• Conducts regular station inspections independently.

• Responds promptly to operational enquiries from both internal and external stakeholders.

Qualifications and Competencies:

• Tertiary Education, with at least 3 years of relevant work experience, preferably in ramp handling, load control functions, airline quality operations and other cargo services etc., or equivalent.

• Excellent knowledge of aircraft handling (e.g., weight & balance, loading) and cargo terminal operations. Successful completion of Basic Cargo and Dangerous Goods Courses.

• Familiar with IOSA and ISAGO standards.

• A good team player who proactively embraces responsibilities, demonstrating strong initiative to contribute meaningfully toward team objectives. Equally capable of working independently and maintaining composure under pressure.

• Excellent communication skills in verbal and written English and Chinese.

• Demonstrates a high level of computer literacy with advanced proficiency in digital systems, platforms, and productivity tools.

• Able and willing to travel with short notice.
