Air Hong Kong established as Hong Kong’s first all-cargo airline.


1986
Commences charter operations with a Boeing 707-320C freighter.


1988
Launches 747-100s freighter operations.


1991
Cathay Pacific Airways acquires majority shareholding in AHK.


1994
Now equipped with a fleet of four 747s, AHK operates throughout Asia, as well as to Europe (up to 2002).


1996
AHK becomes a wholly owned subsidiary of Cathay Pacific in
Feb 2002. Cathay Pacific signs an agreement with DHL Express to establish an Asian regional network operating Overnight Express Operations (OEO) using passenger aircraft through the DHL Hong Kong hub.


2002
DHL becomes a 40% shareholder of AHK.


2003
Introduces the all-new Airbus A306Fs for DHL Express to major cities in Asia.


2004
Commences operations with three B747-400BCFs as well as eight A306Fs exclusive to DHL Express.


2011
Becomes a wholly owned subsidiary of Cathay Pacific, operating 63 flights per week for DHL Express within Asia. Signs a long-term Block Space Agreement with DHL Express.


2019
Successively introduces Airbus A330-300P2F/200F new-generation freighters into the operation to replace the A306Fs.


2020
Network expands to more than 70 scheduled flights weekly to 14 destinations in Asia. Introduces charter flights to Bahrain as the first long-haul operation in two decades.


2022
First commercial flight to the DHL hub in Europe – Leipzig. Over half the AHK fleet are now A330Fs.


2024
First charter flight to Sydney using A330-300P2F aircraft.
