Air Hong Kong (AHK) was founded as a cargo airline and commenced flying operations in 1988. AHK has operated a range of aircraft, including Boeing 747 and Airbus A300 and A330 cargo aircraft, on routes to ports in Asia, the Middle East, Europe, and Australia.

In 2002 Cathay Pacific Airways (CPA) entered into a partnership with DHL Express, establishing an Asian regional route network centred on the DHL Hong Kong hub.

AHK is now a wholly owned subsidiary of CPA, and is focused on providing air cargo services to DHL Express, with remaining capacity supporting extra charter operations for both DHL Express and Cathay Cargo. AHK operates a regular DHL Express schedule between Hong Kong and Shanghai, Chengdu, Singapore, Beijing, Bangkok, Seoul, Taipei, Tokyo, Osaka, Nagoya, Manila, Cebu, Penang, and Ho Chi Minh City.

AHK was a launch customer for, and now operates a fleet of Airbus A300-600 Freighter aircraft. In 2020 AHK introduced Airbus A330-200/300 Freighters into the operation on key routes, as more fuel efficient replacements for 747-400F aircraft. The A330 fleet now consists of 7 aircraft, with 4 more deliveries planned in 2023, and substantial further deliveries in 2024, to ultimately replace the A300 aircraft.

AHK looks forward to working with key partner DHL Express in providing for further growth of Hong Kong’s share in the global express air cargo market.
