AHK carried relief goods for the tsunami refugees

Air Hong Kong operated one non-profit basis freighter from Singapore to Colombo on 03Jan05. The services were organized by DHL to carry goods for the Singapore based humanitarian agency Mercy Relief.

Chief Pilot Wee Kee Gui and Director Flight Operations, Graeme Ogilvie operated the service loaded with 43 tonnes of badly needed materials to Sri Lanka's capital. Wee Kee gave up a day of his holiday to get involved and Graeme joined to help pilot the aircraft on an unusual indirect route over Indian airspace.

Additionally, Air Hong Kong will carry 100 generators on free of charge basis from Hong Kong to Singapore for Aceh Province in Sumatra. The project was initiated by a "Thousand Oaks" pilot who raised money to buy the generators for Aceh hospitals, police stations, schools and mosques which lost power during the tsunami tragedy.
