This is a sight you'll never see again at Hong Kong International Airport - a CX freighter decked out in Air Hong Kong's old livery.

The last of the "blue tail" B747-200 freighters leased to AHK flew its final flight for the sister cargo carrier on Friday, 15 October, heading to Osaka before returning back to Hong Kong the same evening. The aircraft, registration B-HMD, will be repainted before returning to the CX freighter fleet.

In the left seat for the landmark flight was Captain Nigel Browne from the CX Classic fleet. First Officer was Fausto Stoppa while the Flight Engineer was Jon Hurley.

AHK is now in the process of taking delivery of its own fleet of six A300-600 General Freighter aircraft, with the second having just arrived from Toulouse last week. The latest addition to the nascent fleet begins operating on the Kansai route from Sunday, 17 October.
